Highlights of the role
EPCOR is hiring a temporary Summer Intern to support our Instrumentation & Controls (SCADA) team. As a SCADA Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting the systems and technology that help ensure safe, reliable operations across our water and wastewater facilities.
This internship provides exposure to supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, data communication networks, and industrial control infrastructure. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you’ll assist with technical projects, system documentation, and testing activities while learning essential skills used in industrial automation and utility operations.
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
What you’ll be responsible for
- Assist with reviewing and maintaining SCADA software backup inventories and help identify gaps
- Support testing activities for SCADA application development environments and assist with documentation to verify system integrity
- Create or update network and system diagrams for production environments
- Assist the Instrumentation & Controls team with configuration and testing of radios, cellular modems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and related equipment under supervision
- Support documentation and recordkeeping related to SCADA systems, configurations, and testing activities
- Participate in office‑based and field activities, including visiting facilities with team members while following required safety and PPE standards
- Work collaboratively with the I&C team on assigned projects and learning activities
- Follow established safety procedures and demonstrate safe work practices
- Support other projects and responsibilities as requested
What’s required to be successful
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Interest in learning about SCADA systems, industrial automation, and utility technology
- Willingness to learn new systems and technologies and ask questions when needed
